The Glacier Ice Arena

The Glacier Ice Arena is Illinois' premier, state-of-the-art ice arena. Come watch a game, or skate in comfortable, modern surroundings. The Glacier was built in 1999, and features two NHL size ice surfaces and has been a place for families to have fun ever since.

The Glacier Ice Arena's modern lobby is bright, spacious and is illuminated with natural light from huge panoramic windows. There is a concessions stand that offers a wide range of hot and cold drinks together with an extensive variety of light snacks. You can keep up with the latest news or follow your favorite teams progress on one of the four high definition TV’s that are ideally located around the lobby.

Whether you want to book a hockey clinic, pay fees, sign up for a learn to skate class or top up your freestyle card you can do it at your convenience.

This was another exciting year for the Ice Dogs Hockey Program. In only our 3rd season in existence, we have grown to over 500 participants and are one of the premier organizations in Illinois. In our first 2 years, we captured 9 NIHL Flags and 4 State Flags. This past season we captured a combined 13 flags!

The Ice Dogs have always focused on the development and skill building of its participants and capturing 13 flags in our 3rd year is a great indicator of that goal. We provide an opportunity for year round hockey training for all levels of skaters and the Avalanche Spring program combines high tempo practices, competitive tournaments and games, as well as off ice skill development. Congratulations to Team Encore who won their first gold medal on Saturday 21st February in the ISI competition held in Bensenville.

We are home to the Ice Dogs House League (IDHL) our own in-house youth hockey league, the Glacier Skating Academy, the Glacier Figure Skating Club, the Glacier Adult Hockey League, Hockey Zone, and several other organizations.
