As valuable and fun group lessons are, there are times when one to one instruction is beneficial to a skater. This is a time when the skater can work on maneuvers that are giving them difficulty, or perfect those in order to pass to the next level.

Individual lessons are also an essential part of developing a competitive skater, for those skaters interested in taking their talents to the next level, a private coach is desirable.
Private lessons can be arranged in two ways:

First, you can fill out the private lesson request form. This can be left at the front desk for Chris Howarth the Figure Skating Director who will match you with a coach suitable for your requirements. Chris will have a member of our professional staff contact you to make a mutually agreeable arrangement.

The second way is to contact a member of the Glacier Professional Team directly. You can then decide on a mutually convenient time to start your private lessons.

How do I pay?

Coaches fees vary depending on the level of the coach that you choose. Their fees range from $25 to $40 for a half hour lesson. These fees are paid directly to the coach at the start of each lesson unless other arrangements have been made between you and the coach.
Ice fees MUST be paid at the front desk prior to stepping on the ice for your lesson. If the ice fee is not paid you will not be permitted onto the ice, however you will still be responsible for the coaches fees.

Cancellation Policy

There is a 24 hour cancellation policy for all private instruction. Full payment is required for private lessons missed with less than 24 hours notification. You must contact your coach directly to cancel a lesson. The Glacier arena is not responsible for relaying messages with regard to cancellations.
