Eric is an accomplished youth hockey coach and instructor. His current responsibilities include: Glacier Ice Arena General Manager and Hockey Director, Team Glacier Head Coach. Past experiences include: Falcons Bantam CSDHL, 5 years Co-Director Chicago Chill AAA, Roller Hockey International, Chicago Bluesmen Head Coach 1999; NIU, Head Coach 1996-1998; UIC, Assistant Coach 1992-1996; UIC Division I College Hockey, player 1988-1992; Eric grew up in Rochester, Minnesota and played Junior A hockey for the Rochester Mustangs (USHL), where he was twice a national champion. Eric has been a part of the Glacier Ice Arena and Glacier Hockey since its opening in 1999. |

Steve brings another level of instruction and expertise to the Glacier Hockey staff. Steve played 4 years of college hockey at
Clarkson

before being drafted the Chicago Blackhawks 226th overall in the 1990 NHL entry draft. Steve is a 10 Year NHL Veteran (Chicago,
Calgary

Nashville

St. Louis
) where he played 376 NHL games and now resides in
Illinois
. Steve is currently the Director of the Glacier Hockey Zone, the premier off-ice training center in
Illinois
. Since finishing his pro career, he has also coached youth hockey in
Illinois
at the A, AA, and AAA levels.

The Glacier Ice Arena welcomes the newest member of our staff Ken Johnson. Ken brings a 15 year youth coaching background to Glacier Hockey. He is the former Director of the Falcons Youth Hockey Association. His primary focus there was coaching the Mite and Squirt levels age children. Under his direction, he coached multiple mite and squirt teams to State Championships. He played his college hockey at Miami of Ohio University. |

League for the past 5 years. He has been instrumental in bringing the league
to another level. The GAHL keeps growing under Bob's supervision, and is now

Darrel Houtari

Darrel is Glacier Hockey’s goalie coach, where he brings a great amount of knowledge about goaltending. Darrel played his youth hockey in Michigan and Indiana , and was a member of Indiana University’s Hockey Program. Darrel has coached youth players of all ages in Illinois and been with Glacier Hockey for over three seasons. |

Chris Howarth

Chris is a former British figure skating champion and competed in the 1980 Winter Olympics for
Great Britain
. He has over 14 years coaching experience combined with a vast management background and has just completed a term working for the Dutch figure Skating Association as their technical coordinator. Chris is a BITA Master rated coach and has his level 4 NCCP coaching certificate. In addition to his on ice achievements Chris is also Managing Director of John Watts Skates and is part of the team responsible for the revolutionary Freedom blade and has now developed a range of skates for the competitive skater that are being sold around the world.

national competitor, he holds a BA in Figure Skating & Choreography. A regional, sectional, & national coach, Alex offers freestyle, pairs, moves in the field, & choreography. He has over 26 years of teaching experience. Member of USFSA, ISI & PSA.
