Glacier Hockey is pleased to announce The Ice Dogs Invitational Tournament. This year the tournament is being held at the Glacier the 30th of May through the 1st of June, 2008.

This tournament provides an opportunity for great Spring Competition for AA, A and B hockey teams as well as a good compliment for ending the spring season before players start their various summer camps.

Schedule and Results

24 High School teams just finished competing in the annual Wolves Cup Tournament hosted by Glacier Hockey at the Glacier Ice Arena in Vernon Hills, IL. Held April 25th through the 27th, Varsity teams included Barrington, Bart-lett, Carmel, Cary Grove, Crystal Lake South, Falcons, Grayslake, Highland Park, Libertyville, Maine, and Warren. Junior Varsity teams participating were Carmel, Cary Grove, Crystal Lake South, Fremd, Glenbrook South, Highland Park, Lake Forest, Lake Zurich, Libertyville, and Warren. Completing both divisions were the Glacier Hockey Spring League Avalanche teams. 38 games were played over the weekend, all of them competitive. At the Varsity Level three teams won all their round robin games forcing tie-breaker rules to be utilized to determine which two teams would play in the championship game. At the Varsity level the Falcons and Crystal Lake South vied for the Wolves Cup trophy and the Falcons came out on top with an explosive third period scoring spree that led to a 7-1 victory. The Junior Varsity championship game had Fremd and Crystal Lake South trading goals through all three periods until they ended up in overtime. Fremd scored the overtime goal and skated away with the trophy.

Glacier Ice Arena’s Thanksgiving Hockey
Shootout a Success

In hockey-speak, Thanksgiving always means traveling for a tournament and at the Glacier Ice Arena it was no different as they hosted a 50+ team event featuring teams from Illinois, Nebraska, Missouri, and Wisconsin. Giving an International flair to the Tournament was a team from Russia.

Congratulations go out to all the participants of the Thanksgiving Shootout with Special Accolades given to the finalists in each division and Championship teams awarded the Shootout Trophy. The Ice Dogs teams did very well and placed 8 of 12 teams in the Championship games and were victorious in 4 of them. More.
