The Glacier Ice Arena

The Glacier Ice Arena is Illinois' premier, state-of-the-art ice arena. Come watch a game, or skate in comfortable, modern surroundings. The Glacier was built in 1999, and features two NHL size ice surfaces and has been a place for families to have fun ever since.

The Glacier Ice Arena's modern lobby is bright, spacious and is illuminated with natural light from huge panoramic windows. There is a concessions stand that offers a wide range of hot and cold drinks together with an extensive variety of light snacks. You can keep up with the latest news or follow your favorite teams progress on one of the four high definition TV’s that are ideally located around the lobby.

A massive congratulation to Gracie on winning the Junior Ladies National title last week with the highest score ever by a junior skater. This is a massive achievement which has earned her a spot on the team to compete in the Junior World Championships this month in Minsk, Belarus.

Many of you will have seen Gracie training here with Alex over the past months. Her recent success is a testament to her skill, ability, work ethic and sheer nerve and we all wish her the very best of luck for the Junior Worlds. A big congratulations to Alex too, who is feeling very proud!

Gracie Gold, 16, posted the highest score ever by a junior skater at the U.S. Championships.
Gold's poise and her precision jumping has wowed the skating community, so much so that U.S. Figure Skating president Pat St. Peter conceded Thursday that it's possible Gold could end up on the Four Continents team -- which will be comprised of three skaters (not headed to Worlds) picked by U.S. Figure Skating. They will head to Colorado Springs for the early-February international event.
"Her name will be among those considered because of what she has accomplished this season," St. Peter said.
U.S. Figure Skating would like to begin her grooming process as soon as possible. And she's got a name tailor-made for headlines.

They didn't select her for the Four Continents this season, but we all know that it's only a matter of time!
