We have an extensive program of Learn to Skate classes for all ages of all standards. Our Learn to Skate program follows the guidelines of the governing body of figure skating (USFSA) and is designed to take you through the basic skills required to skate, right up to basic jumps and spins.
We know that you have a choice of facilities to learn your skating skills and thank you for choosing the Glacier.
Skating is one of the world’s greatest sports! Skating at the Glacier is fun, challenging and rewarding. Regardless of age, it is a great sport for everyone……… Preschoolers, youths, teens, adults and seniors. Skating is a sport that can last a lifetime!
Whether your goal is to aim for the Olympics, learn to skate backwards, improve your overall health and fitness, impress your friends, or just to have fun on the ice, you can find it when you learn to skate with the Glacier.

Freestyle Ice

Looking for extra ice time to practice your skills?  Glacier Skating Academy offers Open Freestyle sessions for practice or private lessons on a drop-in basis.
For the Fall there will be a new system for paying for freestyle ice. There will be a computer at the front desk that will
have a card swipe adjacent to it. BEFORE getting on the ice skaters must swipe there prepaid membership card and enter the freestyle ice sessions that they are skating on into the computer. This will then generate a sticker that they must put in the freestyle book. Freestyle sessions can be bought for multiples of 30 minutes. Early in October membership cards will be available, you will be able to put as much as you like on the card. Each time you swipe your card to purchase ice time the relevant amount will be deducted from your account.

We are very excited to announce new to the Glacier Ice ArenaTeam Encore!! - an ISI Synchronized Skating Team! It is very exciting and a great team sport for ages 6 years old and up. Synchronized skating is a team of approximately 14-18 girls or boys who will learn a choreographed routine with a theme in mind and matching costumes!  For young skaters, being on a team and competing can be a valuable and fun skating experience.

Ice Shows

We produce two Ice Shows a year. There is a always a production of “An Evening at the Glacier” on either the last or the first Friday of the year. This is a production that gives our higher level freestyle skaters the opportunity to perform for their friends and the Glacier family. All of the soloists in this production are qualified to compete at the Regional Championships and are supported by skaters from the Glacier Skating Academy. We also have an end of year show, traditionally at the beginning of June where all of our skaters are able to perform either in solos, duets, trios or production numbers.
