The Glacier Ice Arena

Dear Families,

As the novel coronavirus (COVID-19) spreads across the U.S. and begins to have an increased impact on our communities, we want to let you know that Glacier Ice Arena will be temporarily closed due to government mandates.

First and foremost, Glacier’s number one priority is the safety and well-being of our staff, clientele, families, and the communities in which we live and work.  All spring programs have been put on hold until we have more information. Although the building will be closed, we will work diligently to collect pertinent information and disseminate in all forms of communication to be sure you are up to date with future activities.

Glacier will monitor the evolving situation and make decisions to ensure we can maintain the health and well-being of our employees and all our skating families.

We will utilize our website to post updates and changes moving forward.

Kindest Regards,

The Entire Staff of Glacier Ice Arena

The health and safety of our guests is of the utmost importance to the Glacier Ice Arena. We are closely monitoring the updates and recommendations provided by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), the Lake County Health Department and the Illinois Departments of Public Health (IDPH), and USA Hockey regarding the COVID-19 (coronavirus) situation.

The Glacier Ice Arena is taking proactive steps to help control the potential spread of COVID-19 (coronavirus). Our staff follows an intensive regimen of wiping down surfaces and cleaning floors and fixtures in all public areas on a daily basis.

We are asking guests who visit our facilities to practice the following recommendations provided by the CDC to help prevent the spread of infectious diseases.

  • Wash your hands often with soap and water for at least 20 seconds. If soap and water are not available, use an alcohol-based hand sanitizer with at least 60% alcohol.
  • Avoid touching your eyes, nose and mouth with unwashed hands.
  • Avoid close contact with those who are sick.
  • Stay home when you are sick.
  • Cover your cough or sneeze with a tissue, then throw the tissue in the trash.
  • Clean and disinfect frequently touched objects and surfaces.

BE RESPECTFUL - the buzz phrase is "social distancing." Do your best to give others their space.

As the situation remains fluid, we will continue to closely monitor the local, state and national responses and will follow the recommendations put forth by health officials.  We will keep you updated!
